Along with 8 other students from around the U.S. and Europe, I learned how to design using a script and different prop-making techniques from Annie Atkins, a designer for film who has worked with Wes Anderson on films like The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Pictured below: A telegram, an example of paper dyeing, a replica of the first chapter of Jane Eyre on aged paper, Marilyn Monroe's passport, an envelope from the Grand Budapest Hotel movie, and an official certificate of workshop completion.

How to Dissect the Script:

During her workshop weekend, Annie Atkins taught us how to read a script and highlight things that the art department will need to design for the movie set.

Below are some props that I designed and made for the book May Bird and The Ever After, a series that I really enjoyed growing up.
